SeaStar Control Cables Editorial Review
The Xtreme Side Mount Control is a marine throttle and gear shifting solution that has garnered a mixture of feedback from users, primarily revolving around installation and functionality. Many users appreciate the performance of this control, noting that it operates smoothly once installed. However, some users have found the installation process less than straightforward, particularly in relation to the specific requirements for different boat models like the Volvo Penta. Reviewers have indicated that while the product works well once up and running, there are aspects of the design that may require some adjustment for drivers transition, such as the long travel distance needed to engage gears and throttle. Despite these installation challenges, customers have commented on the value for the price, especially when replacing older, obsolete controls on smaller boating vessels. Overall, the Xtreme Side Mount Control appears to be a solid option for users seeking a reliable throttle control at a competitive price point, albeit with some caveats regarding its installation and specific fit. **
