Tony Charles , Stuart Rook Books Editorial Review
The 101 Youth Football Coaching Sessions book offers a collection of drills for coaches working with youth football players. The activities are described as cool and enjoyable, encouraging participation, fun, and learning among the U-14 kids. The book provides clear instructions on how to set up, organize, and run the drills. However, this book may be more suited for Physical Education teachers rather than coaches, as it lacks coaching points and evaluation. The drills are not properly themed and linked from one to another, which some users found disappointing. Additionally, the book does not teach drills specific to a system, skill, or tactic, such as defending or attacking drills. It only provides a collection of generic drills. Despite these drawbacks, the 101 Youth Football Coaching Sessions book is still recommended for new coaches starting out. The book is Considered easy to follow, with clear diagrams and explanations of the soccer drills. It offers a good variety of coaching sessions, suitable for different age groups. Overall, the book can serve as a helpful resource for new coaches who are looking for ideas and tips for drills and warm-ups, but those seeking a comprehensive guide on specific skills and tactics may need to look elsewhere.
