However, it is recommended to have a 1000 to 1200 GPH pump in order to turn over a pond twice an hour. It is also important to Consider additional factors such as the width of the waterfall and the filter system. According to Practical Garden Ponds, this pump will work for a pond with 215 gallons of water and a 3 feet tall and 1 foot wide waterfall, however, it will not provide an impressive flow rate. It is better to use a 2400 GPH flow rate if you want a full waterfall 12" wide. The intake valve of this pump is just under 1" OD and the maximum flow rate is 500 GPH.
