SparkFun Equalizers & Feedback Controllers WIG-13720 Editorial Review
The SparkFun MP3 Trigger has emerged as a popular choice for hobbyists, particularly those involved in creative projects like escape rooms. Users praise its functionality, noting that it effectively handles a wide range of audio triggering scenarios with 18 inputs allowing for diverse track selection, including both random and sequential play modes. The device is appreciated for its straightforward setup process, though it does require a basic understanding of wiring and SD card management. Many users, such as one who has utilized up to 12 units, report solid performance when it comes to reliability, particularly when encoding MP3 files at 192kb/s, where the playback is stable without audio artifacts. However, not all experiences have been positive. Some customers faced issues with defective units upon delivery, and requests for replacements also led to malfunctioning products. Additionally, comparisons with similar devices like the Wav Trigger indicate that while the MP3 Trigger excels in playing single tracks efficiently, it may lack some versatility offered by its competitors, especially regarding multiple simultaneous track playback. Overall, the SparkFun MP3 Trigger is a well-received product that meets the needs of many DIY project enthusiasts, even if some users have reported quality control concerns with specific units. **
