Students master fundamental principles before moving to more complex topics. Throughout the series, they encounter practical problems that require them to determine which mathematical operations to use and how to apply them correctly. Instead of completing endless pages of repetitive exercises, students learn to analyze problems, reason carefully, and think independently. Timeless instruction that emphasizes understanding Originally published in the late nineteenth century and used by generations of American students, Ray's Arithmetics provides a systematic approach to mathematics instruction. The series emphasizes understanding rather than rote memorization and develops strong mental discipline through both oral and written exercises. A complete curriculum in one set This complete 8-volume set provides years of mathematics instruction in a single purchase, making it an exceptional value for homeschool families. Its carefully structured progression helps students build a strong foundation in arithmetic while developing the reasoning and problem-solving skills needed for more advanced mathematics. The complete set includes:Student textbooksAnswer keysTest bookParent-Teacher Guide Written by Ruth Beechick, the Parent-Teacher Guide provides teaching assistance, suggested grade levels, progress charts, and unit tests to help parents confidently teach the entire Ray's Arithmetic curriculum.
