This magnetic chess board is a great option for those who are on the go or looking for a space-saving option. The board is made in China and the squares are approximately 1 inch by 1 inch. While it does not connect by magnets when in playing form, the magnets work great for moving the board or if the board is bumped. The chess pieces included with the board are small and magnetic, and the pieces fit into secure slots in the board to avoid loss. The board is of good quality and has a nice finish. The magnets may cause the felt pads to fall off after moderate use, but this can easily be fixed with some super glue. Overall, this is an excellent product with strong magnets and a great training manual, that is perfect for backpack trips or small spaces.
