Condor Machetes Editorial Review
The Condor Amalgam Machete is a beautifully crafted and versatile tool suitable for a range of tasks including chopping, cutting through branches and preparing food. The machete has a smooth wooden handle that feels natural in the hand and a full-tang blade that runs all the way through the handle. The blade is made from 1075 steel, reportedly heat-treated, and holds an edge well. The standard false edge can be sharpened for an extra cutting edge and to aid in penetration in throwing situations. The blade thickness is around 1/8th of an inch and has a weight of 24oz. The machete is easy to clean with soap and water and can be sharpened with diamond and ceramic rods. The majority of customers were pleased with their purchase, noting the quality of the craftsmanship and the machete's effectiveness in tasks such as slashing branchy bushes and chopping down tree fodder. Customers were pleased with the balance and sharpness of the blade, and its ability to retain an edge. However, one customer did mention the blade chipping when cutting down Ash tree sprouts, which highlights the importance of using a tool for its intended purpose and not exceeding its limits.
